Trinity Lutheran education series

All events are free and open to the public. Unless otherwise notes, they take place the first Thursday of the month at Trinity Lutheran Church (1108 E 8th St, Duluth), with breakfast and registration and 8:30am and program from 9-11am. Pre-registration is encouraged but walk ins welcome. Breakfast provided (vegetarian and gf options available), as well as time to network with other community-minded people and organizations. This series is made possible thanks to Trinity Lutheran Church, the SOU Faith Community Housing Committee, the Northeastern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA, and our presenters.

Learn about substance use disorder, common street drugs, harm reduction, opioid overdose reversal, and community resources to support recovery. Learn about warning signs of trafficking, abuse and neglect, and become familiar with local resources to support survivors. 


This training will be led by a panel of local experts from PAVSA, Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center and First Witness Child Advocacy Center.

People who have lived through homelessness and housing insecurity are experts in survival, community and navigating complex systems. This panel of community leaders with Streetwise and Lived Experience Council will share their knowledge and answer questions. What helped? What attitudes and barriers made life more difficult? How can we improve emergency services and housing programs to better set people up for success and honor their strengths?
