UPDATE: Laundry Love now at two locations
Laundry Love is now alternating between two sites: Spirit Valley Laundry (232 N Central Ave) on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesdays of the month; and East Hillside Maytag (820 E 4th Street) on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. We hope that this new arrangement makes the program accessible to more people. Please check the date to make sure you are headed to the right location!
What is Laundry Love?
Laundry Love is a no-cost laundry program open every Tuesday morning. Laundry Love is staffed and funded entirely by volunteers who believe that everyone deserves dignity and clean clothes!
Who can use Laundry Love?
Low-income individuals or families are welcome at Laundry Love. Please bring proof of public assistance (for example: an EBT card or medical assistance card) or student ID. Arrive between 9am and 10:45 am on Tuesday to sign up and remain at the laundromat while your laundry is washing and drying. Laundry Love is a drug- and alcohol-free space. Children are welcome but must be monitored by their parents at all times. Volunteers will do their best to help everyone, but funds are limited and may run out before the scheduled program end time.
Who are the partners?
Laundry Love is a collaboration between Stepping On Up, Laundry Love National , Spirit Valley Laundry, Maytag Laundry, and volunteers from area faith communities including Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church, Lakeside Presbyterian Church, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Duluth-Superior Society of Friends, Asbury United Methodist Church, Elim Lutheran Church, St Michael's Catholic Church, St Paul's Episcopal Church, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Unitarian Universalist Congregation, United Protestant Church, and Duluth Vineyard Church.
How can I help?
Laundry Love is funded through small gifts from individuals and faith communities, and occasional fundraisers. Contributions are welcome! Checks can be made out to Chum with "Laundry Love" in the memo and mailed to 102 W 2nd St, Duluth, MN 55802.
Laundry Love is seeking additional congregations and community groups to join us as partners. Partner congregations commit to one week of volunteering per month and helping raise funds.
